Hot application: for temporary pain relief of aching muscles and joints, nagging back pain and menstrual cramps
Cold application: to help reduce swelling after an injury, cool down temperature, ease headaches and toothaches, and relieve minor burns
Hot Application
- Heating with hot water
- Boil approximately 4-5 liters of water and turn off the heat.
- Immerse the pack into hot water for approximately 10 minutes.
- Remove the pack from hot water and always use the hot/cold pack together with the towel.
- Heating with a microwave oven
- As the power of different microwave ovens vary, you may need to find suitable heating time carefully.
- Before starting heating, flatten the pack by pressing it and ensure the gel inside is ditributed evenly.
- If the pack is stored at room temperature, heat it up at a high temperature for 50 seconds (as 1000W microwave oven). Leave it for 50 seconds and then start using. If more heat is needed, heat up the pack for 10 more seconds. Leave it for 1 minute, and then start using. Repeat this step until the appropriate temperature is reached.
- If the pack is stored in the refrigerator, heat it up at a high temperature for 75 seconds. Leave it for 75 seconds and then start using. If more heat is needed, heat up the pack for 10 more seconds. Leave it for 1 minute, and then start using. Repeat this step until the appropriate temperature is reached.
Cold Application
- Store the pack in a refrigerator so that it is always ready for use or place it into a freezer for at least 2 hours.
- Always use the hot/cold pack together with towel to insulate the cold. In case of severe injuries, wet the towel before applications for greater cold penetration. Do not apply directly on the skin if the pack is taken out straight from the freezer.
- Leave the cold pack on for 15-20 minutes. Repeat every 1-1.5 hours as needed.
