Usage: Slows down the movement (contractions) in intestine to relieve diarrhea symptoms
When toilet access is available, consider withholding the medication to allow natural elimination of pathogens
If diarrhea symptoms are bothersome and there is no fever or bloody stool, anti-diarrheal medication may be taken to manage symptoms
For frequent diarrhea episodes, oral rehydration salts (ORS) can be used to replenish lost fluids and electrolytes
